SparkBuild installation on ubuntu
Hi
I want to use sparkbuild on ubuntu machines. But in the technical specification of the Spark build, it is specified that it will work on RHEL. I want to know if spark build is supported on ubuntu ? if not , what modification is required ? Any patches required ?
One more thing, I am getting some issue installing the Sparkbuild on ubuntu. I downloaded the file from the sparkbuild website. Got SparkBuild1.0.0.200Linuxx86Install . Downloaded that into ubuntu linux machine.
Did following :-
chmod 0777 SparkBuild1.0.0.200Linuxx86Install
./SparkBuild1.0.0.200Linuxx86Install
Got below error

Hi Sobin,
We test SparkBuild on RHEL and Ubuntu; both platforms are supported. The error message you've encountered is unusual; can you give me a little more information about your setup:
- Ubuntu distro version
- 32/64bit?
- Anything 'special' about your setup?
- what is the output when you run the 'id' command from a shell?

The problem is resolved, i had to install the spark build as a sudo in ubuntu.
